Yuvan Bothysathavur began his artistic journey by training under the famous J P Krishna. With a brimming interest in art, he honed his trade by painting large portrait billboards of Tamil Film actors and politicians, spanning over 50 feet in height.

Bothysathavur’s drive to ‘Build’ his work is decided by the multiplicity of planes that stack up memories, and the selectivity of those memories to suit the current context and personalities that one is dealing with at a given moment. Though defined by a stern dictum, it is the conceptual vastness that allows him to clearly differentiate and establish a specific identity between his works.

Soon after receiving his MFA in Fine Arts,he displayed his developing talents at several group shows and solo exhibitions around the country. He has travelled widely to Dubai, Belgium, France, Netherlands to do a study on the people living there, which subsequently brought him to his current methodology of work and expression. He received the Lalit Kala Academy Research Scholarship in 2010-11, the Best College Art, Emerging Artist Award 2013 during his residency in Scotland, and the CIMA Merit Award 2014.
